April 10, 2000 At Pusan, Korea

Posted October 4, 2000

We Are Pending Details For This Interesting Loss And Hope To Have Them For Your Shortly.

At Present We Only Know The Sad State of This Feeder Vessel At Pusan, Korea On 10 April 2000.

The Photo Was Taken From The Tongso Expressway In Pusan Korea.

We Seek To Know The Vessel Name & Voyage -- Do You Know?

Perhaps Containers Being Transferred To A Waiting Submarine?

A New "Dump & Forget" Container Delivery System?

What About The "Sink & Scrub" Method of Inter Hull Cleaning?

The Floating Crane & Shore Crane Make Clear An Attempt To Rescue Vessel & Cargo.

From Our Readers:

Dec. 2001 -- I noted same vessel when I was in Pusan at the same time. The vessel is M/V Han Se, under the Panamanian flag. She sank on the 8th of April and righted on the 13th of April. Thereafter she was brought to a dock yard for repairs."

F.J.C. Sanderse

June 2002 -- I was wandering aimlessly around the web when I stumbled across a picture of the M/V Han Se. I see that a few months ago, someone correctly identified the vessel. Our firm, Pusan Pacific Law Office, represented many of the cargo claimants. The matter was handled professionally by everyone involved, and the cases were very recently settled at terms favorable to our clients (and presumably all other parties).

Jeffrey S. Harrison, Esq.

August 2002 -- Dear Sirs, According to Seasearcher the vessel on the photo is the M/V Han Se. They have the following comments

Quote: "Listed heavily to port side while loading containers at Pier No.5, Busan, 08 Apr 2000. Bow submerged. Floating crane holding afterpart. Righted 13 Apr. Discharge completed 14 Apr. Dry-docked at Busan 15 Apr for permanent repairs." Unquote

Unfortunately I don't have the voyage number, but with the name Hanjin should be able to help you. I hope to have helped you with this info.

Best regards,
Caspar Vermeulen
