Stand Back! -- Santa's Gone Mad!
This is a Trans Air Link flight, on a positioning hop for the 1953 craft,
from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Florida to Opa-Locka on 12 Dec. 2001
Pilot reported trouble for both engines, and down the elevator they went.
No injuries reported to the flight crew of 2, nor for the beach dwellers.
Both crewmembers climbed out & sat on wing for a few minutes
-- before they were knocked off by waves.
Increddible to both the story & the future of this 48 year old Convair dog --
The site of our story is -- Haulover Beach.
Now the haulover of this freighter begins.

These Convair planes could climb like homesick angels. Bet they glide nice too. I estimate there will be a day or two haulover of Convair parts before this old bird makes it into Calphalon cookware. I would have to say this one's a write off. Darn."
